Diagnosing Stress Level in Employees of Indian Banking Sector: A Study
Abstract
Workplace stress has become a major issue for employers,employees and organizations. Tough competition has madeemployers realize that employees are the only source ofcompetitive advantage. Given the pressure to compete andperform, stress is a natural concomitant. It is therefore, necessaryto keep employee stress at bay to ensure good health, performance,morale and wellbeing of employees. The present paper attemptsto measure the intensity of stress among bank employees of India.Organizational Role Stress Scale (ORS Scale) developed by Pareek(1983) is used for measuring the ten role stressors by observing
the frequency of behaviours associated with each role stressor.Further, to find the relationship, if any, that may exist betweenemployees of different age groups, educational level, experienceand stress levels, ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) is done.
